Besides its great popularity, the tiny island of Folegandros is still an untouched piece of true Greece. A gem-island with relaxing energy and an overall evocative atmosphere, a true haven of peace and quite. It consists of only three small villages –Karavostasi (the port), the Chora (main town) and Ano Meria- that are connected by paved roads that lead to the beautiful beach of Agali. The landscape is particularly dry characterized by the soil “terraces” that the inhabitants have created to grow cereal. The Chora center is prohibited to cars and motorcycles traffic and has a unique set of three consecutive squares full of trees that form a natural romantic roof under which one can enjoy a drink or a traditionally prepared dish. Don’t miss the exceptional local bread freshly made in the fournos (bakery).
