Kea –or Tziá– is a unique destination with many attractions, full of steep mountains, small fields, olive groves, vineyards, valleys, picturesque coves, exciting hiking trails and off-the-beaten-track beaches. One of Kea’s most impressive sights is the scenic Kastro (castle), with the remains of the Venetian wall and and its Acropolis, from where one can enjoy one of the most beautiful Aegean sunsets. Opposite stands the country’s “eternal guardian”, the famous stone lion sculpture, a 6metres length work of art of the 6th century.
