Kythnos –also called “Thermiá” on account of its thermal springs – is a little treasure island close to Attica. Renowned for its thermal springs with the therapeutic properties, the small village of Loutra is a rather popular resort. The architectural remains and the human skeletons brought to light during the excavations at the village of Maroula, reveal that the island of Kythnos was the oldest settlement in all of Greece, inhabited since the Neolithic period.
